2023-24 Swimming & Diving Schedule Announced
Blue Devils open with Inaugural Block Cancer Open Water Festival as they begin NEC title defense
Central Connecticut head swimming and diving coach Bill Ball announced the Blue Devils 2023-24 schedule Tuesday morning.
The slate opens with the Inaugural Block Cancer Open Water Festival, September 24th at Lake Terramugas. Three event lengths will be competed, with proceeds benefitting US Olympic gold medalists Elisabeth Beisel's Block Cancer foundation. The event is sanctioned by Connecticut Swimming. "We are honored and excited to partner with Block Cacner and support Elisabeth Beisel's philanthropy through the open water event right here in Connecticut," said Ball, now in his 22nd season at the helm of the Blue Devils. "It will be a meaningful start to our season, as we look to repeat as Northeast Conference Champions."
The Blue Devils will host two dual meets this season, one in each semester. CCSU welcomes Stony Brook to Suydam Natatorium on October 21st. The Blue Devils then host the first day of a two-day dual with NEC member Sacred Heart on Friday, January 19th,
The 2024 NEC Championship will once again be held at the Spire Institute in Geneva, OH, from February 21-25. The Blue Devils have won a conference record seven NEC Championships and finished as the runners-up the past three seasons.
The Blue Devils will once again attend the CSCAA National Invitational Championship, March 14-16 in Ocala, FL.
NCAA Zone Diving will be held March 6-11 and the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship, hosted by the University of Georgia is schedule for March 20-23.
