Three First Half Goals Lead Blue Devils to 7-0-1 Northeast Conference Record
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team scored three times in the first half on its way to a 3-1 victory on the road at Mount St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon. The win moves the Blue Devils to 9-6-2 overall and 7-0-1 in Northeast Conference play. The victory was the second straight for the Blue Devils and they are now 7-1-1 in their last nine games. Three different Blue Devils scored in Sunday's win.

in the first half on its way to a 3-1 victory on the road at Mount
St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon. The win moves the Blue Devils to

The Blue Devils scored three times in the first half to take
control of the game from the start.
Ciara Crinion scored her
first goal of the season at 18:36 to give the Blue Devils the 1-0
lead. Senior Brittany Emin crossed the
ball to the middle where it was touched by sophomore Brittany
Jackson to the front of the net for Crinion. She buried the
shot for her first goal of the season and the 1-0 lead.
Jackson provided some offense again as Central extended its lead to
2-0 at 32:08. She scored her fourth goal of the season off assists
from junior Beth Lloyd and senior Leah
Blayney.
Blayney finished the scoring for the Blue Devils before halftime
with her eighth goal of the season for the 3-0 lead at 33:47. She
took a pass from junior Clio Tregear in the middle
of the box and finished for the final goal of the game for
CCSU.
The Mount added a goal in the 89th minute to avoid the
shutout.
Senior goalkeeper Caity Casey made three saves
in goal for CCSU and did not allow a goal. She played 76:33 of the
90 minutes on Sunday after posting a shutout at Monmouth on Friday
afternoon.
Central outshot the Mount 22-13 in the game, including 11-5 in
shots on goal.
CCSU returns to action on Friday hosting St. Francis (PA) at 3
p.m. They will finish out the regular season and celebrate Senior
Day on Sunday, hosting Robert Morris at 1 p.m.
