Toke Named Women's Lax Scholar-Athlete
Central Connecticut junior Amanda Toke was named the Northeast Conference Scholar-Athlete for women’s lacrosse on Thursday morning.
Central Connecticut junior Amanda Toke was named the Northeast Conference Scholar-Athlete for women's lacrosse on Thursday, June 20. She shares the honor for the 2013 season with Kaleigh Gibbons of Monmouth University. The NEC also announced the 2013 Spring Academic and Commissioner's Honor Roll recipients on Thursday morning with 58 Blue Devils earning recognition.

Toke was instrumental in CCSU's breakthrough season, earning first team All-NEC accolades as the Blue Devils set program records for overall (nine) and league (seven) victories. She ranked second on the team with 28 goals and third with 35 points. Toke was also 8-12 in free position attempts, the best conversion rate on the squad.
A terrific all-around player, she finished second on the team in caused turnovers (23) and draw controls (36), and third in ground balls (29) in addition to her offensive success.
The High Bridge, NJ native also excelled in CCSU's first-ever postseason game, scoring twice against Bryant in the NEC semis. Toke, a Biology major, has attained a 3.52 grade point average in her time in New Britain.
Fifty-eight CCSU student-athletes maintained the required minimum grade point average of 3.20 to land a spot on the NEC Spring Academic Honor Roll. The men's and women's track and field squads each placed 12 student-athletes on the honor roll to lead CCSU's spring sports. The 2013 NEC Champion softball team was represented on the honor roll by 10 players, while the baseball team had eight selections. The women's lacrosse team had seven student-athletes named to the honor roll with women's golf posting five and men's golf being represented by four members.
Of that group, 11 Blue Devils posted a cumulative GPA above 3.75 to qualify them for the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
