Whittaker Earns NEC Pitcher of the Week Honors
After her performances against UHart and Wagner last week, Kaylee Whittaker earned her first Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Week honor. She was also named a Prime Performer alongside teammates Ashlyn Desaulniers and Paige Stringer.
After her performances against UHart and Wagner last week, Kaylee Whittaker earned her first Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Week honor. She was also named a Prime Performer alongside teammates Ashlyn Desaulniers and Paige Stringer.
Whittaker went 5-0 with two wins over the University of Hartford and a three-game sweep of Wagner. She pitched 35.2 innings with four complete games, including a 13-inning contest against the Seahawks. Whittaker allowed just three earned runs and posted a 0.59 ERA while holding opponents to a .142 batting average. She totaled 24 strikeouts, with 10 being in the opening game against UHart.
Desaulniers earned a spot as a Prime Performer going 8-19. She hit her first collegiate homerun to tie things up in CCSU's third game against Wagner and tallied two doubles and two RBIs over the week. Stringer was also named a Prime Performer, going 8-17 with a double and three RBIs.
