After posting three shutouts this week, junior Laura Messina earned her fourth NEC Pitcher of the Week honor Monday.
Junior Laura Messina was named NEC Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this season after leading CCSU to a 5-1 week and shutting out conference foe Fairleigh Dickinson in a doubleheader on Saturday, the NEC announced Monday.
The Blue Devils went on an eight-win streak, including five shutouts, before falling to Bryant in game two of a doubleheader on Sunday.
Messina, four-time NEC Pitcher of the week and 2013 NEC Tournament MVP, posted a 0.82 ERA this week, pitching five complete games including three shutouts. She went 4-1 on the week improving her season record to 17-9.
