Men's Soccer Falls to Sacred Heart in Season Finale
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team fell to Sacred Heart, 2-0, on Monday in the spring season finale at CCSU Soccer Field. The Blue Devils honored their seasons prior to the abbreviated spring campaign that was played following the cancellation of the fall season due to COVID-19. The Pioneers scored twice after halftime to claim the win.

KEY MOMENTS
- After a scoreless first half, Sacred Heart came out pressuring the CCSU defense from the jump. In the 50th minute, SHU earned a free kick from the right side and Lucas Miquel Castrillo sent his service into the penalty area, where Olliver Persson buried a header at the far post to make it 1-0.
- The Pioneers doubled the margin with just under two minutes to pla. Rob Taylor IV sent a looping shot from the right wing that was tipped away by junior Jason Dubrovich. The rebound fell to the foot of Persson who had an open net and he tapped home his second score of the day.
NOTES
- Dubrovich made six saves.
- SHU held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks and a 20-11 margin in shots.
- Junior Sean Gannon had a team-high 7 points (2 G, 3 A) on the season. Freshman Kacper Skonieczny led the Blue Devils with three goals on the year.
- Central recognized three seniors before the game: Francesco Ambrosino, Khalid Rose, Joey Zacchia

Kelly on Rose - "Khalid has added athleticism, and skill, to this year's team. His performances, particularly his goal-of-the-year against Bryant, have been stunning.
Kelly on Zacchia - "Joey brought maturity and professionalism, to this year's team. He was a great presence on and off of the field, and his personality added to the great camaraderie and chemistry that the team now enjoys."
