Northeast Conference Announces Men' Soccer Preseason Poll
The Northeast Conference announced its Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll for the upcoming spring season on Tuesday. Central Connecticut was tabbed eighth in a vote of the league's coaches.
The defending NEC regular season champion Merrimack received three first places. Fairleigh Dickinson was picked second and received a pair of first place nods. LIU also took home two first place votes in securing third in the poll, followed by Bryant, which earned the final first place tally. St. Francis Brooklyn, Mount St. Mary's and Sacred Heart rounded out the poll.
Interim head coach Dave Kelly will lead the Blue Devils in his first season at the helm of the program. A seven-match conference schedule will be contested in a single round-robin format over six weeks from March 1 to April 12. The 2020-21 NEC Men's Soccer Championship match will pit the No. 2 seed at No. 1 seed the weekend of April 16-18.
