Biekert Breaks 3,000m Steeplechase Record

Junior Brian Biekert shattered his own CCSU record in the 3,000m steeplechase on Friday at Princeton University, clocking a time of 8:50.84. Biekert set the record in the event last season with his time of 8:59.11.

Biekert placed ninth overall in a field of 38 competitors.

Senior Craig Hunt also represented the Blue Devils in competition at Princeton on Friday. He raced the 5,000m run in 14:18.03 for 14th place overall out of 77 distance runners.

Hunt and Biekert served as the first two Blue Devils to compete this weekend at Princeton. Central continues competition tomorrow with the sprint, hurdle and field events. Fans can follow all of the action via LIVE RESULTS.
