Klukowski Named USL Player of the Week
Former Blue Devil standout Yan Klukowski was named Player of the Week for the United Soccer Leagues Second Division for his play against Wilmington. Competing as a member of the Western Massachusetts Pioneers, Klukowski scored one goal and assisted on another to defeat the Hammerheads 2-1 and record the team's first win of the season.

Tyrie, Klukowski Sign With Western Mass. Pioneers
David Tyrie and Yan Klukowski have signed with the Western Massachusetts Pioneers, announced today by Central Connecticut head coach Shaun Green. The Pioneers are a professional club playing in the United Soccer Leagues. Both players recently finished their careers at CCSU this fall and were integral pieces of the Blue Devils' first ever Northeast Conference Championship in 2007.

Klukowski and Tyrie Selected to Play in NEISL Senior All-Star Game
Senior captains Yan Klukowski and David Tyrie were selected to participate in the New England Intercollegiate Soccer League Senior All-Star Game. Both four year starters, Klukowski and Tyrie will join 14 other Division I players chosen to play in the match. The game features players from all NCAA Divisions and will be played at Clark University in Worcester, MA on Saturday May 2 at 2:00 p.m.

Klukowski, Tyrie and Cavener Earn All-Region Honors
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America and Adidas recognized three Central Connecticut soccer players with All-North Atlantic Region honors. Senior captains Yan Klukowski and David Tyrie received NSCAA/Adidas First Team accolades, while sophomore Robert Cavener was awarded with a third team selection.

Klukowski Named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American
Yan Klukowski became the sixth Blue Devil to be named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American Team on Wednesday, as released by CoSIDA. The senior captain received third team honors for his performance on and off the field this season. Klukowski is a physical education major at Central Connecticut and led the Blue Devils to a Northeast Conference Championship and the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2007.

Central Connecticut Places Three on All-NEC Men's Soccer Teams
Senior captains Yan Klukowski and David Tyrie received All-Northeast Conference First Team honors, while sophomore Robert Cavener was selected to the All-NEC Second Team. Klukowski and Tyrie have received all-conference honors in each of their four years at CCSU. Cavener, on the other hand, received his first All-NEC award after a stellar sophomore season. The awards were presented Thursday evening at the conference's banquet. On the eve of the NEC Tournament, the reception was held at tourny host Monmouth University.

Guimaraes Scores In Overtime Loss To Monmouth
Raphael Guimaraes scored the lone goal for the Central Connecticut men's soccer team as they fell to NEC leading Monmouth, 2-1, on Senior Day in New Britain. Seniors Yan Klukowski, David Tyrie, Ben Howe and Nick Soares were honored before their final regular season game on the CCSU Soccer Field.

Floyd and Diop Score In 3-1 Blue Devil Victory
Juniors Eddie Floyd and Hadji Diop scored goals and the Central Connecticut (9-6-2, 3-4-1) men's soccer team came from behind to defeat Mount St. Mary's (9-8-0, 5-3-0), 3-1, on Friday afternoon at the CCSU Soccer Field. Diop scored the game-winner off an assist from sophomore Connor Smith. The score marked the first for Diop as a Blue Devil.

Tyrie Scores Game-Winner, CCSU Defeats Robert Morris, 1-0
Senior captain David Tyrie, normally a central defender for the Blue Devils, was moved up front in the second half to provide an offensive spark and that he did, leading the Central Connecticut (8-6-2, 2-4-1) men's soccer team past Robert Morris (2-13-3, 0-6-2)on Sunday, 1-0. CCSU has now won two in a row and will be hosting Mount St. Mary's on November 7th and Monmouth on November 9th in their final two regular season games of the year.

Blue Devils Defeat St. Francis (PA) on Cavener's Game-Winner
Sophomore Robert Cavener scored his second goal of the season to lift the Central Connecticut men's soccer team (7-6-2, 1-4-1) past St. Francis (PA) (4-10-2, 1-5-1) in a 1-0 game in Loretto, PA. The midfielder put in a header off of a cross from junior Hadji Diop only seven minutes into the game. The Blue Devils stayed tight defensively, only giving up eight shots to the Red Flash, and went on to win 1-0.

Klukowski Named To ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 1 First Team
Senior captain Yan Klukowski was awarded for his work on and off the field, receiving ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 1 honors. Klukowski earned a first team spot for his accomplishments this year. The Wiltshire, England native is a physical education major and will now be placed on the National Ballot for consideration for Academic All-American.

Klukowski Scores Team-Best Eighth Goal, CCSU Falls to Quinnipiac, 3-1
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team (6-6-2) lost to Quinnipiac (8-4-2, 3-2-0), 3-1, and fell to 0-4-1 in Northeast Conference play on the road Sunday afternoon. Senior captain Yan Klukowski continued his high scoring season, tallying his eighth goal of the year. He now has 21 points.

The Central Connecticut men's soccer team (6-5-2, 0-3-1) recorded its first point in NEC play Sunday afternoon, playing to a 1-1 tie against Fairleigh Dickinson (7-3-2, 2-0-1) at the CCSU Soccer Field. Junior Eddie Floyd scored the first goal of his career in the second half for the Blue Devils.

The Central Connecticut men's soccer team scored the first goal, but Sacred Heart University countered with two of their own to defeat the Blue Devils, 2-1, on Friday afternoon at the CCSU Soccer Field. Junior Raphael Guimaraes scored the lone goal for Central off an assist from fellow junior Eddie Floyd.

The Central Connecticut men's soccer team slipped to 0-2 in NEC play, losing to Long Island 2-1 in overtime. Senior captain Yan Klukowski tied the game at one late in the first half, but the Blackbirds' Mohammad Mashriqi scored the game winner on Sunday afternoon in New Britain, CT.

Men's Soccer Falls to St. Francis (NY), 2-1
The Central Connecticut men's soccer team fell to St. Francis (NY), 2-1, in their first Northeast Conference game on Friday at the Aviator Complex in Brooklyn Heights, NY. Senior captain David Tyrie scored the goal that tied the game in the second half, but St. Francis sophomore John Sallhag notched the game-winner in the last minute of play.
