Men's Golf in Second Place After Day One at NEIGA Championships
Murphy leads CCSU in the first round
Senior Connor Murphy shot a round one score of 76 (+4) to lead the Central Connecticut men's golf team to a round one score of 312 in the first round of the NEIGA Division I Championships being held at the Captain's Course in Brewster, MA. The Blue Devils are just two shots off the lead of Bryant University (310).
Bryant leads the field, followed by the Blue Devils, Fairfield (316), UMass Lowell (317), Holy Cross (321) and Providence (334).
Murphy sits in a tie for third place overall, just two shots off the lead of Ryan Tombs from Bryant. Sophomore Austin Forauer sits alone in sixth place after shooting a 77 in the first round.
Sophomore Anthony Sebastianelli is the third Blue Devil in the top-10, shooting a 78 and sitting in a tie for seventh place overall.
Junior Bryant Bolden shot 81 (+9) and is tied for 14th place, while classmate Nick Direda shot 85 and is in 28th place overall.
The second and final round will begin on Monday morning.
