Eberhardt Claims Ninth in Steeplechase on Friday

Senior Elizabeth Eberhardt of the Central Connecticut women's track and field team finished ninth out of 13 competitors in the 3,000 meter steeplechase finals on Friday at the Sam Howell Invitational. The two-day meet is taking place at the Weaver Track and Field Stadium on the campus of Princeton University.

Eberhardt crossed the finish line with a time of 11:06.06 to record the top-10 finish in her first outdoor competition of the year.

The senior standout is the only competitor for CCSU on the women's side at the meet and the 3,000 meter steeplechase is the only event she is running in. The rest of the team is competing today at the Yellow Jacket Invitational at American International College in Springfield, MA.
