Women's Golf 11th After Day One of Kingsmill Intercollegiate
Olivia Gardenhour leads CCSU with two round total of 151
Freshman Olivia Gardenhour shot a two round total of 151 and sits in a tie for 11th place overall after the first two rounds of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate being hosted by William and Mary. The first two rounds were both played on Monday. The tournament is being held at the Kingsmill Resort-River Course in Williamsburg, VA. The third and final round will take place on Tuesday.
The Blue Devils are in 11th place overall after shooting a first round score of 314 and a second round score of 320 on Monday. Central was tied for ninth place after the first round. Their total of 634 is two shots better than Lehigh, and ahead of LIU Brooklyn, St. Francis U and LaSalle.
Richmond leads the pack, followed by Akron, St. John's, Williamd and Mary and then Fairleigh Dickinson. Illinois State is sixth, followed by Bucknell, Penn, Longwood and then Sacred Heart.
Gardenhour shot 77 in the first round and followed that up with a 74 to tie for 11th place after the first day. Classmate Meghan McLean shot 75 in the first round and 80 in the second, and is tied for 24th place overall.
Senior Tara Whelan shot 78 in the first round followed by an 81 in the second round for a total of 159, she is tied for 40th place. Senior Cecy Gutierrez and freshman Alexa Brown are in 73rd and 74th place respectively after shooting scores of 171 (86-85) and 172 (84-88) in Monday's rounds. Freshman Roxanne, playing as an individual, shot 87-93 and is in 79th place.
The tournament will conclude on Tursday.
