Bio

Glenn Senecal is back for his seventh season as an assistant at Central Connecticut State University.

CCSU head coach Beryl Piper brought in Senecal to join the Blue Devil staff in her first season at the helm.  Senecal, who assists with recruiting, team travel and scheduling, came to New Britain after a one-year stint as an assistant at Albany.

The Nichols College graduate brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Blue Devil program. Prior to working with the Great Danes, Senecal was the head coach at Mitchell College for three seasons beginning in 2003.

While at Mitchell, Senecal led the team to a regular season co-championship in Region 21 and a runner-up finish in the Northeast Division III Association of Independents.

“Glenn offers our program another assistant with a wide variety of experience,” Piper said. “He has a great personality and will be a dedicated coach who will work hard to recruit student-athletes to our program. Glenn will also give his time to the student-athletes at Central. He will be there to help them reach their potential on the court as well as in the classroom.”

The 23-year veteran of college coaching has also served as an assistant at Boston University, Bryant University, The College of the Holy Cross, Assumption College and Nichols College.

During Senecal’s tenure at Boston University, the Terriers won their first America East Championship and appeared in the NCAA Tournament. Senecal also helped guide Assumption to the NCAA Tournament.

Senecal, who is also in charge of equipment, supervising film exchange, organizing scout teams and camps/clinics at CCSU, began his career as an assistant varsity coach at Tourtellotte Memorial High in Thompson, CT.  He has also coached at Marianapolis Prep.

Senecal lives with his wife, Brenda, and son, Andrew, in Putnam, CT.
