The Central Connecticut women's basketball team kicks off the month of February with a short road trip to Fairfield, CT to face the Sacred Heart Pioneers in the 41st all-time meeting between the two schools. The Blue Devils will start their next cycle Northeast Conference games after finishing 2-7 through the first nine games of league play.

MOST RECENTLY FOR SHU • Sacred Heart dropped a 63-48 decision on the road at St. Francis Brooklyn on Monday night. The Pioneers shot just 16-for-53 (.302) from the field and were led by Jayla Davis with a career-high 12 points. Sacred Heart was out-rebounded 41-32 in the contest.
SERIES HISTORY • William H. Pitt Center will host the 41st meeting between Central and Sacred Heart. The Pioneers old a 28-12 advantage in the series. Earlier this season on January 13, the Blue Devils put away Sacred Heart 69-59 building their largest lead of the season of 18 points, 60-42, in the third quarter. Junior
Kiana Patterson scored 20 of her game-high 23 points in teh second half and chipped in three assists to lead CCSU.
CCSU IN THE NEC • Following the first cycle of NEC action, the Blue Devils sit at 2-7 in the conference, collecting both wins on their home floor against Wagner (1-8) and Sacred Heart (3-6). Central ranks second in the NEC in three-point field goal defense, holding teams to just 29.2 percent on average.
