Bio

David Hunt joined the Blue Devil cross country and track & field programs as an assistant coach in August 2015.

Hunt comes to Central after being an assistant coaching at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, and Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU) in Willimantic, CT. While with Wesleyan, Hunt helped guide two male, and one female NCAA DIII cross country championship qualifiers, and one male would go on to earn All-American honors. At Eastern, Hunt helped guide athletes to multiple PR's, and broke school records in the women's 1500m, 3k, and 5k.

Hunt, a former Blue Devil standout, earned All-Northeast Conference honors as a sophomore in cross country in 2007, along with NEC Freshman of the Week honors in in 2006. While competing for ECSU, Hunt earned All-Little East Conference honors, and broke school records in the 1mile, 4x800m, and DMR.

Hunt also excelled in the classroom, earning ECSU Scholar-Athlete laurels, and received the ECSU Excellence Expo Award in Fundraising for ECSU's Veterans Education and Transition Services.

In high school, Hunt competed for New Milford High School (NMHS). At NMHS, Hunt garnered individual South West Conference (SWC) titles in cross country, track, and was a former Class LL 1600m record holder. From a team standpoint at NMHS, Hunt was part of winning back-to-back New England Cross Country Championships, along with a CT State Open Championship, Class LL/L Championships, and SWC Championships.

Hunt earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Leisure Management, with a concentration in Sports Performance, and a minor in Physical Education from ECSU.
