Budge Named NEC Cross Country Rookie Of The Week
Five Blue Devils earned NEC Prime Performer honors after capturing the team title at LIU Fall Festival.
Central Connecticut State University cross country's Aiden Budge has been named the Northeast Conference Cross Country Rookie of the Week. He is one of five Blue Devils that earned NEC Prime Performer after the team captured first place at the LIU Fall Festival, and all running under 26:00 for the 8K course.
Budge placed fifth, the top rookie performance, at the invitational, with a run of 25:57.9. He was the Blue Devils fourth finisher.
Samuel Whittaker was the team's top finisher, with a run of 25:32.6 good for second place. James Sullivan ran 25:47.1 for third place and Jake Ireland placed fourth at 25:54.6. Eddie Nicholas rounded out the Prime Performance recognitions for the squad, placing sixth in a time of 25:58.7.
The Blue Devils are back in action on September 30 when they travel to the Paul Short Invitational.
