Men's Cross Country Wins Season-Opener at Father Bede Invitational; Sullivan Takes Individual Title

The CCSU men's cross country team won the team race at the season-opening Father Bede Invitational on Friday at Immergrun GC in Loretto, PA. Sophomore James Sullivan won the individual title and paced the Blue Devils pack of six top-10 finishers. He completed the 6K course in 18:52.1.

• Sophomore Jake Ireland(19:10.7) and junior Elias Field(19:24.6) placed second and third in the field of 73 runners. 

• Junior Yankarlos Diaz(19:25.1) and freshman Salvatore Masciarelli(19:26.7) placed fifth and sixth with freshman Mark Rodriguez(19:36.7) close behind.  

• Graduate student, Tim Lautenbach, took the Blue Devils last scoring slot and placed 13th with a time of 19:52.6. 

NOTES 

• Central had a team-score of 17 to top the team leaderboard. Duquesne was next with 43 points.
