Hubbell And Sauter Tabbed ECAC Runners Of The Week
The Blue Devils return to action on Saturday in the Northeast Conference Championships.
Senior Patrick Hubbell and freshman Colin Sauter of the Central Connecticut men's cross country team were recognized by the ECAC for their performances this past weekend at the CCSU Mini Meet. Hubbell was tabbed the Corvias ECAC Division I Co-Runner of the Week and Sauter earned Corvias ECAC Division I Rookie of the Week honors.
Hubbell won the 12th Annual CCSU Mini Meet with a time of 14:51.28. He was less than six seconds shy of breaking the course record and he finished more than six seconds ahead of the second place runner. Hubbell's performance also led the Blue Devils to a first place team finish.
Sauter finished 23rd overall with a time of 15:29.40. He was the first freshman to cross the finish line to represent the Northeast Conference.
The 5K race featured 127 competitors and was held at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT.
Hubbell, Sauter and the Blue Devils will return to action this Saturday for the Northeast Conference Championships also at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT. CCSU is looking for its sixth straight NEC men's cross country title and will do so on its home course. The men's race is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
