Hunt Completes NCAAs Saturday
The three-time 2013 NEC Athlete of the Week wrapped up a successful senior campaign at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
Craig Hunt of the Central Connecticut men's cross country team capped off a successful senior campaign on Saturday as he was the only male representative of the Northeast Conference to compete at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, IN.
Hunt completed the race in a time of 32:09, crossing the finish line just over two and a half minutes behind Oregon's Edward Cheserek who claimed the win. The three-time 2013 NEC Athlete of the Week ultimately placed 183rd in the 253 runner field.
Following the NCAA Regional competition on Nov. 15, Hunt qualified for competition at the NCAA Championships with his top-25 performance and was the only male NEC runner to do so.
This season, Hunt led his team to an eighth-place regional finish, the first New England Championship in CCSU history as well as the Blue Devils' fifth-straight NEC title. Hunt also earned the Individual Champion title at the NECs and was named All-Conference for his first-place overall finish.
With his cross country season complete, Hunt will continue to represent the Blue Devils as the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons start up.
