Hunt Named Division I All-Region
Following a top-25 finish at the NCAA Northeast Regionals, Hunt has also earned a spot at the NCAA Championships on Nov. 23.
Craig Hunt of the Central Connecticut men's cross country team was named Division I All-Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) this week for his impressive, top-25 performance at the NCAA Northeast Regionals on Nov. 15.
A total of 450 student-athletes earned the distinction by finishing among the top 25 individual finishers at one of the nine regional sites across the country.
Hunt was the only male student-athlete to represent the Northeast Conference.
Texas led all men's teams with seven honorees, while Oklahoma State, Syracuse, Indiana, Villanova, Eastern Kentucky and Princeton all earned six apiece.
The ACC led the way in representation on the men's side with 27 total honorees, followed by the Big Ten (23), SEC (22) and Big 12 (22).
The NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships will be contested Nov. 23 in Terre Haute, IN, hosted by Indiana State on the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center. The meet will be broadcast live online at NCAA.com.
