Head Cross Country Coach Eric Blake was named NEC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year on Thursday.
Central Connecticut's Eric Blake was named 2012 Northeast Conference Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year, the league announced Thursday.
In his fourth season as head coach of the Blue Devils men's cross country team, Blake led the squad to its fourth-consecutive NEC Championship title. CCSU also boasted the NEC Individual Champion for the third year in a row. This year, the honor went to junior Colby Delbene.
In addition to leading the squad to another championship, Blake coached Delbene, sophomore Brian Biekert and junior Andrew Hill to spots on the All-NEC team.
This is the third time Blake has been awarded the honor. He also earned the title after leading the CCSU men's team to conference victories in 2009 and in 2010.
