Men's Outdoor T&F Earn NEC Honors

The Northeast Conference announced the all-conference selections for the outdoor track and field season. Central Connecticut, the 2015 NEC Outdoor Track and Field champions, had 15 All-NEC selections. Additionally, head coach Eric Blake and his staff were named NEC Coaching Staff of the Year for men's outdoor track and freshman Tyler Latham earned Most Outstanding Rookie.

Blake and his staff guided the Blue Devils to their second straight NEC Outdoor Track and Field title this season and placed three athletes on the All-NEC First Team, five on the All-NEC Second Team and seven on the the NEC All-Rookie Team.

Latham earned Most Outstanding Rookie honors after earning NEC All-Rookie honors in a pair of events. He earned third-place in the javelin with a throw of 58.30 meters and placed fifth in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.82.

Seniors Patrick Hubbell (1500m) and Jordan Watkins (110m hurdles) along with freshman Sam Borecki (pole vault) all earned gold at the outdoor championships and were named All-NEC First Team as a result of their wins. 

Sophomore Tyler Raymond earned All-NEC Second Team honors in both the 5000m and 10000m runs with second-place finishes. Classmate Jeremy Willis (javelin) joined him on the second team, along with freshman Austin Trainor (steeple chase). The Blue Devils 3200m Relay also earned a spot on the second team.

Joining Latham on the NEC All-Rookie Team were Trainor (steeple chase), Borecki (pole vault), Alex Norstrom (10000m), Joshua Walker-Thomas (high jump) and Peter Cotto (discus).
