Before Central:  While at Cheshire High School, Velleca was a senior captain and a three-year starter...He helped lead his team to its first Housatonic Division title since 2007 and earn the top seed in the Southern Connecticut Conference Tournament...His team advanced to the Class LL quarterfinals for the second year in a row.
