Central Connecticut State University men's soccer welcomes Paul Wright back for his fifth season as the team's assistant coach in 2010.  Wright's job responsibilities include recruitment, player development, scouting and various administrative duties.
       

Prior to joing the Blue Devil staff, Wright, who starred for CCSU from 1995-98, had been coaching high school and club soccer since 2000.  He also had been playing professionally in both the U.S. and Spain. 
       

As a player under Green, Wright was a two-time All-Mid Continent Conference performer as well as an All-New England honoree twice.  He also tied the NCAA single game record for goals, scoring eight against Maryland-Eastern Shore in 1995.  Wright added an assist in that Blue Devil victory, setting a CCSU single-game record with 17 points.  He also ranks third in the program record book for single season points (50, 1996), second for single season goals (23, 1996) and tied for eighth in single season goals (14, 1995 and 1997).
       

After graduating from Central in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion, Wright played for three seasons with the Western Massachusetts Pioneers.  The Pioneers were National Champions in Wright's first season and went to the semifinals the following year.  Wright continued his professional career with the Philadelphia Kixx of the Major Indoor Soccer League in 2002, reaching the league finals in his only season.  Most recently, Wright played for Real Balonpedica of the Spanish Division 2 league.
       

A native of the Rock of Gibraltar, Wright divided his time playing professionally with coaching stints for the boy's soccer programs at Plainville High and Maloney High.  He was also the Director of Coaching for Wethersfield youth soccer.  Wright, who holds a USSF 'B' license and is a candidate for a USSF 'A' license and a NSCAA Premier diploma, is currently the FSA Soccerplus U-15 boys head coach.
       

Wright resides in West Hartford with his wife, Emily, and son, Liam.
