CCSU Student-Athlete of the Month for November
Kiana Patterson of the women's basketball team.
Senior Kiana Patterson of the Central Connecticut women's basketball team has been announced as the CCSU Student-Athlete of the Month for November.
Patterson was named a Preseason All-Northeast Conference selection at the league's Social Media Day and has been among the league leaders in the start of the year, averaging 17.3 points per game, 3.0 assists, 2.3 three-pointers and playing 33.2 minutes. She became the 16th player in program history to score 1,000 career points earlier this season when scoring 25 points at Rutgers on Nov. 13. Patterson is the team captain and has been named to the NEC Prime Performers list twice this season. A management major, she has also served as a tour guide at CCSU Open House events.
The CCSU Student-Athlete of the Month is a new initiative launched for 2018-19. Beginning with our September honoree, a Blue Devil student-athlete will be recognized each month for their athletic performance, academic achievement and community involvement.
The CCSU Student-Athlete of the Month is sponsored by long-time supporter and donor Pat Clynes, and his business, Fritz Kennel, in Houston, Texas. Clynes, a Connecticut native, is a generous benefactor of CCSU Athletics, and most recently established the Clynes Athletic Enrichment Fund in August of 2016. Thank you once again to Pat for his continued commitment to CCSU Athletics.
