Bio

Way Veney was named the Central Connecticut women’s basketball head coach on April 23, 2023 (read more). Veney has made seven postseason trips as an assistant coach and brings nearly 20 years of coaching experience to CCSU.

Veney graduated from East Carolina University where she was a two-year starter and earned All-CAA Second Team honors in both seasons. She participated in tryout camps for the Detroit Shock and Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA.

Veney, and her wife Dalila, have two children, Wray Lee and Wren Rose.
