Rafter Wins Fourth Athlete of the Week Award
Senior Blue Devil Angie Rafter was named Athlete of the Week by the Northeast Conference on Wednesday. She has now received the nod four times this season. She has been eligible to receive it four times this season.
Rafter was named Athlete of the Week after a record breaking performance at the CCSU Mini Meet last weekend. The senior finished first overall in the women's 3K with a time of 9:30.8. Her finish was 21 seconds better than her previous personal best and also set a course record for Stanley Quarter Park.
Rafter has three first-place finishes already this season. Rafter and the rest of the Blue Devils will be looking to win a fourth-straight NEC Championship this Saturday at home. Rafter was bested by just .1 seconds in last year's championship race, and finished first in the Championship before that.
