Volleyball Drops Non-Conference Tilt Against Bryant on Tuesday
The Blue Devils and Bulldogs split the opening two sets, but Bryant would hold off CCSU to win the match.
The Central Connecticut volleyball team dropped a non-conference matchup with Bryant, 3-1, on Tuesday night in New Britain, CT. The teams split the first two sets of the match before the Bulldogs held off the Blue Devils in the final two stanzas to win the match.
CCSU travels to Sacred Heart on Saturday.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central had a 13-11 lead in the opening set following a kill by Kaylin Hadley and a block by Isabelle Roufs. The Bulldogs would call timeout, trailing 20-19, before edging ahead 23-21 following a successful challenge. The Bulldogs closed the set with back-to-back kills.
- The Blue Devils would build a 13-9 lead in the second set after Isabella Bratze notched an ace. The Bulldogs would come back and take a 22-21 lead before a CCSU timeout. Following the stoppage, Central tied it on a kill by Roufs tied it at 22. The teams went back and forth with a kill by Weronika Poczynek tying the set at 24. The Blue Devils would take advantage of two Bryant errors to win the set, 26-24.
- Bryant scored 10 straight points to take a 10-2 lead in the third set. The Blue Devils were unable to get closer than 14-6 the rest of the way as the Bulldogs took a 2-1 lead in the match.
- In the fourth set, CCSU took an early 5-1 lead after an ace by Poczynek, but the Bulldogs would come back to go ahead 8-7. Central would go ahead late following a kill by Mia Lombardo and a Bryant error to make it 22-19. Bryant would rebound to score the final six points and win the match.

- Poczynek had a team-high nine kills, to go with six digs, three blocks and an ace.

- Lauren Milani had a match-high 18 digs.
