Blue Devils Stand in Third After Day One of NEC Championships

Track Highlights:

Brooke Morabito won the first women's track event of the Championships with a first-place (37:11.89) finish in the 10K. Rebecca Carusone took eighth place to grab a point for The Blue Devils, she ran a time of 39:02.46.

In the women's 1500 meters, Mya Morabito turned in the top qualifying time of 4:45.03, while Brooke Morabito (4:45.35) also earned a spot in the final.

Adriana Brathwaite won her prelims heat with a time of 12.27 to earn a spot in Sunday's final in the 100 meters. Brathwaite would also qualify for the 200-meter final with a time of 24.89.

Rachel Bartolucci ran 2:15.41 to win her heat in the 800 meters and qualify for the final.

The 4x800m relay team consisting of Mya Morabito, Maegan Desmarais, Rachel Bartolucci, and Riley Powers ran a 9:18.16 to place fourth.

Sara Ovesny won silver with a toss of 49.34 meters in the hammer throw. Marina Perry placed fifth with a mark of 47.72 meters.

Aaliyah Walker scored in the long jump with a mark of 5.32 meters on her first jump of the day.

Wenesha Stewart placed third in the shot put with a 13.13m throw. Marina Perry placed fifth tying her PR with a 12.95m throw.

Alissa Hurd placed fifth (1.64m) in the high jump to tally four points for the Blue Devils.
