King and Keane Earn NEC Swimming Weekly Awards
Central Connecticut junior Jeannette King and freshman Abbey Keane earned Northeast Conference weekly swimming and diving honors it was announced by the conference office on Thursday. King was named Swimmer of the Week and Keane was named Rookie of the Week. The duo helped the Blue Devils win a dual meet at home vs. LIU.
Additionally, junior Katie Czulewicz was named a Prime Performer
King won two individual events along with wins on the 400 medley and 200 free relay. She swam the 50 free in 24.54 to win by .65 and won the 100 free with a time of 52.63, posting her best time of the spring to win by 1.04 seconds.
Keane won the 1,000 free and placed second in the 500 free. She won the 1,000 free with a time of 10:38.72 in her second-best time of the spring to top the next swimmer by 23 seconds. She also turned in a time of 5:11.86 in the 500 free, bested only by teammate junior Katie Czulewicz. Keane also swam on the CCSU 'B' 200 free relay that turned in a time of 1:42.45.
The Blue Devils will swim at Rhode Island on Saturday.
