Swimming and Diving Tabbed Second in Preseason NEC Coaches Poll
The Central Connecticut women's swimming and diving team was picked second in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll announced on Wednesday. The Blue Devils, winners of five NEC titles under head coach Bill Ball, placed second a season ago.
Bryant was picked to finish first. The Bulldogs have won three consecutive NEC titles and earned a total of six first-place votes from the coaches. Central collected the other three first-place votes and was picked just ahead of Wagner, LIU, Saint Francis U, Sacred Heart, St. Francis Brooklyn, Mount St. Mary's, and Merrimack.
The Blue Devils opened their season with a win at Sacred Heart and will be back in the pool on Feb. 20, against Bryant.
The 2021 NEC Swimming & Diving Championships will take place from March 29 to April 2 at Spire in Geneva, OH.
