Swimming and Diving Adds Zoe Baker and Elyse Boothroyd
Central Connecticut swimming and diving head coach Bill Ball announced a pair of newcomers who signed their National Letter of Intent to join the Blue Devils' program. The two Connecticut standouts, Zoe Baker and Elyse Boothroyd, will join Central for next season.
"The addition of Zoe and Elyse are going to continue to help bring the Central diving back to the top of the Northeast Conference," said Ball.
Baker is from Hall High School in West Hartford, CT. She holds school records for both the 6-dive and 11-dive scoring format – records which she first broke as a freshman and has continued to best in subsequent years. She was an All-Conference diver in 2017, 2018, and 2019 and has also competed for Hall in indoor and outdoor track.
Boothroyd, also a Connecticut native, has competed for the Lyman Hall/Coginchaug Co-op boys team. She broke the Coginchaug six-dive record in her first dual meet and has continued to top her mark. As a junior, she pushed her six-dive record to 242.0 and placed third in the SCC for a second consecutive season. She placed eighth in the Connecticut Class M Championships as a sophomore and was 10th as a freshman, before the state competition was canceled by the pandemic in her junior year.
