KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils got out to an early 6-0 lead against the Warriors, but Merrimack was able to storm back to take a 11-9 lead.
- After Merrimack took over with the lead, Jenkins converted on an and-one play and followed it up with another clean jumper. Nibbelink and Forever Toppin matched that with a three pointer each, and suddenly CCSU went into the second quarter with a 20-15 lead.
- The second quarter saw the Warriors take the lead again and Jenkins and Nibbelink immediately steal it right back for CCSU. After the Blue Devils fell behind 29-28, Nibbelink recorded seven points, two offensive rebounds and a steal. Oh yeah, Jenkins drilled another three, too. Still, the Blue Devils held a narrow lead heading into the half, up 39-37.
- The third quarter was not a pretty one on the offensive side for either team. CCSU shot its lowest total of the game (29 percent) but were still able to pull away. Amaya Williams finished off the third with a three, her fifth point of the quarter and good enough to give CCSU a 55-45 lead heading into the final frame.
- The Blue Devil defense pitched a gem in the fourth quarter, forcing a game-low 13.3 field goal percentage from the Warriors. On the other end, the offense was able to ice things with ease as Toppin dropped in seven fourth quarter points and Nibbelink added in five of her own.
NOTES
- After a pair of canceled games, the Blue Devils now hold a 2-2 NEC record.
- The Blue Devils only dressed seven players today.
- Nibbelink's 17 points ties her season high, while Jenkins is one point short of her season high. Nibbelink shot a lights out 7-11 from the floor.
