Czarnecki Named Track Rookie of The Week

Men's Outdoor Track runner Maxwell Czarnecki was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week after his weekend performance. Tyrone Mack and Samuel Whittaker were also named Prime Performers for Central.

First-year runner, Maxwell Czarnecki placed first in the 400mH with a time of 55.30 at the Blue Devil Invite on Friday. He also ran in the 4x100m dash where his group placed first with a time of 41.99.
Senior thrower Tyrone Mack was also recognized as a Prime Performer for his performance at the Blue Devil Invite. Makc placed first in the Shot Put (15.11m) and Hammer Throw (50.61m) at the meet this weekend.
Senior distance runner Samuel Whittaker competed in the Penn Relays on Thursday evening. Whittaker broke the 5K school record with a time of 13:58.24 previously held by Matt Walker (15:32.73, 2016). Whittaker placed 7th in the event and stands alone in first place in the NEC in the 1500m and 5k.
The Blue Devils will compete in the Northeast Conference Championships this weekend at home in New Britain. Day one of competing starts on Saturday, May 4th.
