The Blue Devils turned in a cumulative team GPA of 3.04 in 2020-21. In the first season under interim head coach Dave Kelly, the team had 12 student-athletes named to the NEC Fall Academic Honor Roll. Kelly guided the Blue Devils to a third-place finish in the league's standings during the spring season. CCSU posted a .500 or better win percentage for the first time since 2013 after going 3-3-1 in its first campaign under Kelly.
A total of 602 soccer teams (220 men, 382 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2020-21 academic year. Of that total, 90 schools - including CCSU - had both their men's and women's programs recognized. United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year. College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2020-21 academic year.
The Blue Devils are back in action on Sunday, September 26, when they open Northeast Conference play against LIU at home.
