Men's Basketball Drops Sunday Contest at Mount St. Mary's
The Central Connecticut men's basketball dropped a Sunday afternoon Northeast Conference tilt, 65-50, against Mount St. Mary's at Knott Arena. Mount used a 10-0 run over five minutes early in the contest to take a lead it would ho ld throughout the contest.
Freshman Davonte Sweatman was the only Blue Devil in double-figures with 12 points. Central shot 18-of-47 (.383) overall and went 6-of-14 (.429) on three-pointers. The Blue Devils shot 8-of-12 (.667) at the foul line.
Mezie Offurum led three Mountaineers in double-figures as he had 14 points and eight rebounds. The Mount shot 24-of-50 (.480) overall and 9-of-22 (.409) from three-point range. MSM was 8-of-11 (.727) at the foul stripe.

KEY MOMENTS
- Mount St Mary's used a 10-0 run to grab the lead and build a double-digit lead in the early going as CCSU was held scoreless for over five minutes. Freshman Davonte Sweatman ended the Blue Devils scoring drought with a pull up jumper in the key to make it 13-5. The Mountaineers would lead throughout the opening period, pushing the lead to as many as 15, but CCSU would score the final four points of the period to make it 27-16 at the break.
- The Blue Devils trimmed the deficit to single digits early in the second half following a pair of foul shots by junior Ian Krishnan to make it 31-23. Mount would respond with back-to-back three-pointers and made 6-of-7 shots to push the lead back to double-figures. The Mountaineers would push the lead to as much as 55-39, while using the three-point shot as they hit 5-of-6 from the arc in that stretch.
- Central was unable to get any closer the rest of the way. The teams combined for five foul shots in the final 0:37 to settle the final score, 65-60.

- Junior Ian Krishnan scored eight points and hit two three-pointers. He now has 969 career points and 181 career three-pointers, which ranks third and second among active NEC players, respectively. He ranks 8th on the CCSU career three-pointer chart.
- Central had eight players score at least one basket and log at least 11 minutes in the game.
