Men's Hoops Plays Third Game in Four Days, Falls at Rutgers
The Central Connecticut men's basketball fell at Rutgers, 79-48, on Saturday at Jersey Mike's Arena. The Blue Devils, who were playing third game in four days, closed out their non-conference schedule and did so while missing three starters and a pair of reserves.
Senior Stephane Ayangma notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in 33 minutes. Freshman Joe Ostrowsky added 12 points and three assists. Central shot 15-of-55 (.275) overall and went 6-of-15 (.400) on three-pointers. The Blue Devils shot 12-of-19 (.632) at the foul line.
Cliff Omoruyi led the Scarlet Knights with 19 points and 12 rebounds. RU shot 35-of-70 (.500) overall and 4-of-16 (.250) from the arc. Rutgers was 5-of-10 (.500) from the foul line.
