Clark Tabbed All-New England
Sophomore led the Blue Devils with three interceptions and 89 tackles
Central Connecticut State football sophomore Kimal Clark (Lackawanna, NY) was selected All-New England by the New England Football Writers Association.
Clark, an All-Northeast Conference First Team honoree last week, finished the 2023 season with 89 total tackles. His 8.9 tackles per game was second in the NEC and 32nd amongst FCS players, through the end of the regular season. Clark finished the year with 53 solo tackles, which was 5.3 a game – tops in the NEC and 17th in the nation. He had a season-high 15 tackles, 10 solo, in the season-finale and finished the campaign with four double-digit tackle games.
CCSU football has had eight student-athletes named to the All-New England Team in its past five seasons. In 2022, Chizi Umunakwe and Nas Smith were honored. Following the 2019 NEC Championship campaign, the Blue Devils had three (Aaron Winchester, Tre Jones and Tajik Bagley) earn the recognition.
A graduate of St. Francis High School, Clark has played in 22 games in his two seasons with the Blue Devils. He has 104 career tackles, 62 of them solo stops. He has four interceptions on his resume as well.
The All-New England team will be honored at the New England Football Writer's Captains and Awards Banquet, December 7th, in Framingham, MA.
