Baseball Launches Four Homers in Win at FDU
Central Connecticut hit four homeruns in a 13-4 win over FDU in Northeast Conference baseball action on Saturday in Teaneck, NJ. Junior Noah Martinez two homeruns, while classmate Dan Covino and sophomore Joe Rios each hit one homerun to power the Blue Devils offense.
The Blue Devils and the Knights wrap up the series on Sunday at Noon.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central jumped out to a seven-run lead after the top of the fourth. CCSU scored four runs in the second, with the first four hitters coming to the plate all hitting safely. Freshman Aiden Redahan had an RBI-double, while freshman Kyle Gordon had a RBI-single. Rios would hit a two-run blast to make it 4-0.
- The Blue Devils added three runs in the fifth with Covino and Martinez hitting back-to-back homeruns. Covino's was a two-run shot and Martinez hit his first of the day to make it 7-0.
- FDU was unable to score until the bottom of the fourth when Luke Cantwell and Joan Sosa would hit consecutive RBI-singles to make it 7-2.
- CCSU tacked on four runs in the seventh. Martinez hit a two-run homer to begin the inning and sophomore Elliot Good would hit a two-run double to push the lead to 11-2. The Blue Devils got an RBI-single from senior Sam Loda and a sac fly from Redahan in the top of the eighth to make it 13-2.
- The Knights took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth and Hunter D'Amato hit a two-run homerun to round out the scoring.
NOTES
- Each of the starting nine CCSU lineup had at least one hit for the second straight game. The Blue Devils matched a season-high with 17 hits in the game.
- Freshman Vincent Spizzoucco won his fourth straight decision. He tossed 5.0 innings and was charged with two runs and had four strikeouts with no walks.
- Sophomore Hunter Pasqualini was 4-for-6 at the top of the order for Central.
- Martinez hit his team-leading eighth and ninth homeruns of the year, while Covino hit his sixth. The duo lead the Blue Devils with 39 and 36 RBIs, respectively.
