Women's Cross Country Recognized With USTFCCCA Academic Honors
After displaying excellence in the classroom and on the competition field, the student-athletes of the Central Connecticut men's and women's cross country teams were acknowledged by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday. Senior Angie Rafter and junior Ashley Dana were also named All-Academic Athletes.
Both teams were named to the 2020 NCAA Division I Cross Country All-Academic lists for achieving a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale. Overall, 233 team searned All-Academic recognition. The CCSU women's cross country team earned a combined GPA of 3.61 for the fall of 2020.

USTFCCCA ALL-ACADEMIC INDIVIDUALS
There were 269 individuals who earned All-Academic Individuals in Division I. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and have either qualified for the national championship meet or finished top-5 at their respective conference championship. Dana won the Northeast Conference individual crown, defeating Rafter in a photo finish. Rafter had won the previous two conference individual titles.
