Rafter Earns Second NEC Athlete of the Week Honor
Angie Rafter was named the NEC Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
For the second time this season, Central Connecticut women's cross country runner Angie Rafter, was named the Northeast Conference Athlete of the Week. It was announced by the league's office Wednesday afternoon.
The Danielson, CT native led the Blue Devils at the New England Championships last weekend. Rafter completed the 5K course in 18:25.6 for a 20th place finish out of a field of 154 runners. She was the first NEC runner to complete the course. As a team, Central finished in 11th place out of 22 schools at the meet.
Classmate Megan Brawner also recorded a top 25 finish, crossing the finish line shortly after Rafter at 18:30.0 and was named a NEC Prime Performer this week.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team hosts the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday, Oct. 25 in Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT.
