Blue Devils Finish Fourth in 16th Annual Mini Meet
Angie Rafter led the Blue Devils in the women's 3K race.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team had a quality showing at its own 16th Annual Mini Meet on Friday afternoon in Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT. The Blue Devils placed fourth overall out of 14 other teams. Leading head coach Eric Blake's team in was sophomore Angie Rafter who finished in fifth place with a time of 10:12.3.
CCSU scored 99 points and finished the 3K race with an average time of 10:40.1.
Shortly behind Rafter was classmate Megan Brawner who completed the course in 10:22.5 in 11th place. Senior Dawn Hubbell finished about 20 seconds later in 22nd place with a time of 10:47.3.
Freshman Ashley Dana and senior Madeline Mondo finished 10 seconds apart, the rookie finished with a time of 10:54.0, and Mondo finished at 11:04.1.
Sophomore Sabrina Chesters finished with a time of 11:20.7 and senior Morgan Ricci rounded out a fine day for the white and blue with a time of 12:27.1.
CCSU was represented in the sub varsity race by sophomore Kailyn Accetura who finished with a time of 12:17.2.
Providence College won the meet with 20 points including the top three individual runners.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team will travel to Bryant for the Northeast Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 27. beginning at 11 a.m.
