Women's Cross Country Places Ninth at the 14th Annual Mini-Meet

The Central Connecticut women's cross country team placed ninth overall at the CCSU 14th Annual Mini-Meet at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT, on Friday. Junior Brittany Mendelson led the Blue Devil pack in the 3k course with a time of 10:27.4 and placing 11th overall in a field of 127 runners.
Sophomore Madeline Mondo and junior Victoria Cronin were the next Blue Devils to cross the finish line, recording times of 10:46.0 and 10:49.1, respectively. Mondo took 32nd place and Cronin claimed a 36th spot in the standings.
The next group of Blue Devils were sophomore Dawn Hubbell, who clocked in a time of 11:02.2 (58th place) and senior Brandy LeClair, who finished the 3k at 11:08.6 (65th place). Completing the team of seven Central runners for the varsity event were senior Paxton McNierney (11:41.5) and Morgan Ricci (12:21.6).
The 2016 Northeast Conference Cross Country Championships, held at St.Francis University in Loretto, PA, will be the next event for the CCSU women's team. The finals are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29th.
