Volleyball Bested at SFU
Central Connecticut volleyball was defeated by Saint Francis U on the Red Flash's home court Saturday.

KEY MOMENTS
- SFU started the first set with a quick three point swing to take an early advantage, but CCSU forced four Red Flash errors to score six straight and regain the lead.
- The Red Flash turned things around quickly and parlayed short scoring spurts to set up match point. SFU got a block to win the first.
- Ashlyn Eisenga's defense was impeccable throughout the match, but the second set was highlight reel of impressive digs from the senior.
- The second set was an offensive clinic from the Blue Devils leading scorers. Emma Henderson and Nyjha Marcelin each contributed four kills each, but the Red Flash used a late 4-1 run to take the set.
- Lauren Milani, a freshman who has gotten more playing time as the season has progressed, made some impressive plays on both ends in the third as well. After scoring a kill, Milani served up three more points for CCSU to tie the set at 10.
- The two teams traded short runs to 20, but SFU had another late run to seal the match.
NOTES
- Henderson led the Blue Devils with 10 kills against the Red Flash. Two freshmen were behind her as Marcelin contributed eight and Milani posted 6.
- Eisenga had a team-high nine kills, but had countless great saves to keep rallies alive.
- This was the third time the teams have faced off this season, with CCSU winning the previous two matches.
- Marcelin and Eline van Heijningen each had two blocks in the match while Nicole Kraemer and Henderson each shared assists.
