Marcelin Takes Home Player of the Week Honors
CCSU volleyball's Nyjha Marcelin took home her first Player of the Week honors on Tuesday after another strong offensive showcase with the Blue Devils this past weekend.
Marcelin was a key factor in the Blue Devils two wins this weekend, leading the team in kills in both games. Against Long Island University, Marcelin posted 17 kills in CCSU's 3-1 victory. In the team's 3-0 sweep over Saint Francis Brooklyn, Marcelin had a game-high 17 kills.
Perhaps even more impressive was her efficiency. The redshirt freshman hit above .300 in both matches (.371 against SFBK, .306 against LIU).
Marcelin's highlight-reel kills have been a constant for the Blue Devils this season. She's fourth in the Northeast Conference in total kills and currently leads the team with 234 on the season. Her K/S total also stands out in the box score, posting 3.13 kills per set.
Marcelin and the rest of CCSU volleyball will be back on the court this weekend when they host Sacred Heart on Friday.
