Volleyball Sweeps Merrimack on Tuesday
The Central Connecticut volleyball team swept a pair of contests against Merrimack in the Northeast Conference's return to play this spring on Tuesday in New Britain, CT. Sophomore Isabelle Roufs and freshman Nyjha Marcelin led the Blue Devils' attack as CCSU improved to 2-2 on the year.

KEY MOMENTS
- In the opening match, Central used an 11-1 run en route to winning the opening frame 25-11. The Blue Devils did not trail in the second set and used a 12-2 spurt to build a nine-point advantage in the third set to sweep the match.
- Central did not trail in the opening set of the second match and would close the set with a 16-1 run. CCSU trailed 22-21 in the second set before scoring the final four points, with sophomore Isabelle Roufs serving the final three to seal the set. Central jumped out to a 17-6 lead in the third set before closing out the match and a sweep of the day's matches.

20 – CCSU had just 20 total attack errors in two matches combined.
NOTES
- Teams are playing a double round-robin doubleheader format over five weeks this spring after the fall season was wiped out due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Roufs had a team-high 11 kills in the first match and she hit .667.
- Junior Natalie Novak had 18 assists in the first match and 19 in the second.
- Senior Emma Henderson hit .444 with 14 kills in the second match. She added 10 digs.
- Freshman Nyjha Marcelin had 11 kills in match two.
- Freshman Tori Boulay had 21 assists in the second match, after compiling 10 in the first.
- Senior Ashlyn Eisenga had 15 digs in each match.
- Central hit .386 as a team in match one and .350 in match two.
