Dana and Rawles Named Athletes of the Week by the NEC

After standout performances at the Raleigh Relays meet in Raleigh, NC this weekend, Ashley Dana and Tamara Rawles were selected as Athletes of the Week by the Northeast Conference.
Dana earned the Track Athlete of the Week award after breaking program records in the 1,500m and 800m races this weekend. She finished the 1,500m race in 4:25.42, breaking her own record by over a second. She broke 800m record, previously held by Angie Rafter, by .16 seconds, coming in at 2:12.18.
Rawles collected the Rookie of the Week award after impressive performances in the 100m and 400m dash events. She completed the 100m in 12.50 and crossed the finish line in the 400m in 58.77.
Dana was also named a Prime Performer alongside teammate Alissa Hurd. Hurd had a strong showing for the Blue Devils on the field side, placing 22nd in the high jump, leaping for 1.62m.
The Blue Devils will be back in action this weekend at the American International College Invitational on April 1st.
