Women's Track and Field in Second Place After Day One
The Central Connecticut State women's track and field team found itself in second place after the opening day of the Northeast Conference championships in Emmitsburg, MD.
The Blue Devils have 38 points, while Saint Francis U leads with 53 points.
KEY TRACK PERFORMANCES
- The Blue Devils opened the day with a 1-2 finish in the 10,000 meter. Angie Rafter won the event in 39:11.02, just ahead of Brooke Morabito (39.11.90). Rebecca Carusone (39:24.38) placed fourth to give CCSU a 23 point haul in the event.
KEY FIELD PERFORMANCES
- Alissa Hurd earned eight points with a silver medal performance in the high jump. She leapt 1.64 meters.
- In the long jump Aaliyah Walker placed sixth with a mark of 5.10 meters to earn three points.
