Women's Track and Field Competes at UConn Northeast Challenge
Central Connecticut State track and field was back competing again on Saturday, this time making the short trip over to the University of Connecticut for the Northeast Challenge.
KEY PERFORMANCES
- Rebecca Carusone and Kayla Cohen represented CCSU well in the 5000 meter race with two top ten finishes (Carusone placed fifth and Cohen ninth).
- Maggie LoSchiavo finished the 3000 meter steeplechase in 12:28.30, putting her soundly in the top ten with an eighth place finish.
- Reigning NEC Rookie of the Week Alissa Hurd placed 13th in the high jump with a 1.55m attempt. Hurd had another sgrong performance in the 100 hurdles, placing 18th at 16.29.
- In the women's javelin throw, Sarah Ovesny 26.09m, good for a 19th finish.
- Livvy Pizzitola and Adriana Brathwaite finished one after the other in the 100 dash, seperated by just .06 seconds.
- Brooke Morabito finished just outside of the top 30 in the 1500, clocking in at 4:55.12.
