Rafter Sets School Record at BU Last Chance Meet
The Northeast Conference Champion Central Connecticut State University women's track and field team was back competing on Sunday, participating in the Boston University Last Chance Meet.
Three Blue Devils from the women's team competed on Sunday. Angie Rafter ran in the 3,000 meter run, Ashley Dana in the 800 meter race and Aaliyah Walker competed in the triple jump.
Rafter grabbed a fifth place finish in the 3,000 meter run, finishing in 9:19.17. The time is a school record in the event, adding to the already historic season Rafter has put on. The senior is coming off of an insane performance in the NEC Championships last weekend where she won three individual events and pushed the relay team to a fourth medal.
Dana finished 12th in the 800 meter race with a 2:13.34 time, just beating out the 13th place finisher by a hair.
Walker also impressed in her event, finishing fifth with an 11.40 meter jump that she landed on her third attempt.
